Inspiring Teacher Websites

I have chosen four teachers that have experience working with children for many years.  Therefore, they have good classroom management skills to encourage new teachers to use in the classroom. In addition, they use different textbooks and materials in their classroom that correspond to common core and state standard requirements for all academic subjects.
The first teacher is Angela Watson who has 11 years’ experience as a teacher in the classroom. Also, she has created several books and materials to inspire teachers not to give up on students but to help the students achieve academic goals when it comes to reading, math, and writing skills.  One technique that Angela uses is “Don’t steal the struggle,” which means allowing students a couple minutes to think about answers to math problems. For example, this method can be seen through teaching students how to use color cubes to show 64 in a word problem.
This is the link to Angela Watson's website: https://thecornerstoneforteachers.com

Next, the second teacher is Julian McLaughlin who has taught for several years in the classrooms.  A few principles that she believes is necessary to foster a positive classroom environment is a “warm, safe, and caring environments [that] allows students to influence the nature of the activities they undertake, engage seriously in the study, regulate their behavior, and know of the expert criteria and high expectation”( McLaughlin, n.d.).
One thing that caught my attention on McLaughlin’s website is the idea of “building on prior knowledge and experiences” that students have already learned from home through different classroom environments. For instance, in preschool for a science project children learn to mix basic food color in a plastic water bottle with confetti to make a
Third, I would like to introduce Jessica Meacham who won National teacher of the year. Meacham is a first grade teacher that received a monetary gift along with the award. To build up reading skills, Meacham created accessories to go along with a scrabble game. In order to make this a classroom assignment, the teacher needs “pencils, [a] recording packet, letter tiles and [a] two minute timer" (Meacham, 2014).  This will be a good game for teachers to add to the writing center. Another assignment for students to understand vocabulary is fluency words.  The accessories include a pointer, ten slide die, two minute timer, and word sheet.  Meacham also shared good organization skills for the classroom. This includes arranging furniture so that teachers and student have the freedom to move around the classroom. www.jessicammeacham.com
the fourth teacher that inspires is Renz who has inspired teachers to use six assements tools that will help with assessing and testing student performance. At the beginning of the school year, students have to be screened to enter school as well as keep track of their growth in academic subjects, such as reading and Math.  Teachers can add to the materials the school district uses to evaluate students during the school year.    An assements one school district used is Dial-3 for preschool students. This consist of running, jumping, and skipping.   www.mrsrenz.com
